A memorable point-to-point cycling journey across Slovenia, where high Alpine passes, emerald river valleys, vineyards and the Adriatic coast can all be linked in just a few days.

Slovenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Green Destination, and it shows in the variety, beauty and relaxed atmosphere of its roads and landscapes.

These roads are not only beautiful to ride, they are also part of the home training terrain of Tadej Pogačar and of the wider landscape that has helped shape modern Slovenian cycling.

This tour connects the foothills of the Julian Alps, the Soča Valley, Goriška Brda, the Karst region and the Adriatic coast on quiet roads with big views and constant changes of scenery.

Slovenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Green Destination, combining breathtaking Alpine scenery with a relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere that is rare in European cycling hotspots.

On this tour you will ride 6 memorable stages, covering around 500 km and roughly 6.000 m of elevation. The days are designed to be challenging but enjoyable, with time to take in the views, stop for coffee and discover places you would be unlikely to find on your own.

The atmosphere is deliberately social. We ride together, regroup when needed and finish each day with a relaxed briefing for the next stage. Afterwards, you can join us for a cold beer, share stories with new friends or simply unwind with your own ride mates. It is as much about the people as the riding.

Day 1

From Ljubljana to Lake Bled

After a short loop through Ljubljana’s old town, the heart and soul of the capital, we leave the city behind and head towards the countryside and iconic Lake Bled.

Day 2

Loop Ride to Lake Bohinj

Today’s ride takes us into the very heart of the Julian Alps. We visit Slovenia’s two most iconic lakes, starting at Lake Bled and finishing at Lake Bohinj. Along the way, we ride through Triglav National Park and take in mountain springs, forest roads and open pastures.

Day 3

From Lake Bled to Bovec

From Bled, we head over Vršič Pass to Bovec. The day begins with a gentle warm-up through the Radovna Valley before reaching Kranjska Gora and starting the climb to Vršič, Slovenia’s most famous mountain pass, with its 24 hairpin bend.
From the top, we descend into the emerald valley of the clear and cold Soča River, surrounded by some of the most dramatic Alpine scenery in the country.

Day 4

From Bovec to Goriška Brda

In contrast to the high Alpine peaks of the previous days, today we ride into Goriška Brda, a region of rolling hills, vineyards and orchards known for its warm hospitality and outstanding local food and wine.
Around almost every corner, there is a wine cellar or small village stop that gives this stage its own character.

Day 5

From Goriška Brda to Lipica

Today we gradually descend into the Karst region, known for its prosciutto, stone villages and the strong local red wine, Teran. We finish in Lipica, home of the world-famous white Lipizzan horses.

Day 6

From Lipica to Piran

After breakfast, the final riding stage begins. Today we descend towards sea level, and the closer we get to the coast, the broader the Adriatic views become.
For the final 10 km, we follow the shoreline through the beautiful town of Piran and on to the finish in Portorož Marina, where the tour ends with a well-earned beer and pasta gathering.

Day 7

Departure

After breakfast, the tour officially comes to an end. You can extend the day by enjoying the Adriatic coast a little longer or take a pre-arranged shuttle to the airport.

    The closest and most convenient airport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU). From there, it is around 30 minutes by shuttle or taxi to the tour starting point in central Ljubljana.

    Other nearby airports include Klagenfurt (Austria), as well as Trieste and Venice (Italy). From these airports, Ljubljana can be reached by rental car or private transfer within a few hours. If needed, we are happy to advise on the best connection and transfer options.

  • By car:Ljubljana is easily accessible by motorway and lies in the centre of Slovenia, roughly one hour’s drive from the main border crossings with Austria and Italy. There are many convenient parking options in and around the city for the duration of the tour, and we are happy to advise on suitable solutions.
